Monday 26th July and the advance party is beginning to grasp South American organisation. With a beaming grin and a 'butter wouldn't melt' lilt our hotel receptionist kindly informed us that the hotel was overbooked and so we were on the streets for a night. Things were not looking good. With breakfast in our bellies and a steely temperament we ventured in to the streets of Cusco. Considerably less hungover than the previous morning, braving the endless offers of massages with a happy ending and the drug dealers we were determined to make all the pieces fall into place, and so they did. We now have accommodation sorted and, on Wednesday morning, the Hattersley/Hearne combo welcome our bodyguard, Big John Swanson for an overnight trek to Machu Pichu and back. We also managed to meet up with our Adventurists contact, Dave, and register our presence in the navel of the Inca Empire. So, with our admin sorted there is only one thing left to do... sample the local nightlife, again. Well, I say our admin is sorted, we still have no route, no maps with which to plan it and no fur to cover our trusty steeds in.
